Who We Are

About the EWEOC

A centralized URCS platform for early warning, information management, preparedness, anticipatory action and emergency coordination.

A national coordination and information hub

The Uganda Red Cross Society established the Early Warning & Emergency Operation Center (EWEOC) to strengthen timely and effective humanitarian action. The Centre monitors risks, anticipates hazards, supports informed decision-making and coordinates rapid action before, during and after emergencies.

It brings together early warning systems, situational monitoring, data analysis, emergency coordination and two-way community communication to support people-centred disaster risk management.

The EWEOC works with national and local stakeholders, including the National Emergency Coordination and Operations Centre (NECOC), government agencies, humanitarian partners, communities and other emergency operations centres.
